Our lab’s research program is focused on coastal ecology and management. We study beaches, sand dunes, salt marshes, estuaries/lagoons/bayous, and adjacent upland habitats.

Our central goal is to identify how coastal ecosystems respond to short-term disturbances (like hurricanes or human modifications) and long-term sea level rise (as caused by a warming climate), and then use this knowledge to develop new strategies for coastal management.
